A magazine spread design for a hypothetical interview article with mountain-climber, engineer, and double apmputee, Hugh Herr. He lost both legs to frostbite and nearly died on a mountain excursion, but instead of giving up his passion, he founded a company that has advanced the prosthetics industry on every front, enabling himself and hundreds like him to live passionately despite all odds.
The inspiration for this illustration came from the fact that he has many different attachments for his prosthetics for different types of mountain terrain. I combined that with the common practice of choosing an outfit for the day, and ended up with an image of him choosing a pair of legs for the day instead of clothing.
